This nationally accredited course, which is a prerequisite for the Diploma, is designed for people who want to pursue a career in the child care industry. This course provides you with the theoretical background in working with children 0-6 years in a long day care, preschool, occasional care and family day care children's service and will enhance your skills in providing care to children and developing their play. Assessments will be undertaken both in the workplace and at the College.
Attendance 2 days per week (Mondays and Tuesdays) at College, and 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) for practical work experience at a centre. This course is an approved course through Centrelink (No: 2P694) for full-time students and a travel concession card can be arranged through the College. Pre-requisites: Participants must be 18 years of age prior to completing the course and be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
The course is taught and paid for in 3 Modules, which can be completed in any order. Paysmart payment plans available.
