Making your own pants can be easy, however fitting can be a task, especially hips, curves and crutch. This workshop is designed to identify the problem in your calico toile and make adjustment to your pattern, to give the correct fit for your pants. If time permits instruction on inserting a pants zipper. Bring requirements listed on Confirmation/website. Consecutive weeks from start date. No concession.

Materials

Do not purchase equipment until you confirm that the course is running.

Bring along a pair of basic pants made from calico, using a commercial pattern, use your waist and hip measurement as a guide for pattern size, add an extra 2cm to sideseam when cutting out. Stitch inner leg seam, sideseam, crutch and waistband of pants together using a long machine stitch and a thread that’s easily visible. Pen, paper, scissors, pins, tape measure, unpicker, thread. 1metre calico, 18cm dress zipper. Sewing machine optional.
