Art - Still Life Drawing for Beginners
Come along for an enjoyable workshop exploring different elements of still life drawing. I have been an artist for 40 years, a finalist in ‘Works on Paper‘ in the Fishers Ghost Art Competition and held a successful exhibition in the Palm House gardens in the Sydney Botanical Gardens. I look forward to sharing my years of experience with everyone. I endeavour to showcase my love of art to all. I classify myself as a pencil person and look forward to bringing out everyone‘s secret artistic ability.
In this class we will explore a new still life each week. This will include how to use a variety of different mediums while exploring lighting, composition, measurement and arrangement, graphing, different shading techniques, perspective, symmetry, space and depth. We will produce a quality piece of still life art work each week. Bring requirements listed on Confirmation/website.

Agenda
Week 1: How to use different artistic mediums and how to set up your first art work
Week 2: Exploring different shading techniques
Week 3: Exploring gesture and contour line drawing
Week 4: Proportion and size relationships
Week 5: Symmetry and measurement of our still life display
Week 6: Examining perspective to all the other elements we have learnt already
Week 7 & 8: The next 2 weeks will be producing a larger still life exploring all the elements we have already explored
Materials
Bring an A3 sketching book, a set of graphite pencils 2B, 4B, 6B, F H, blending sticks, charcoal pencils or sticks, Erasers (both vinyl and kneadable), sharpeners, easel if you have one.
