Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following units of competency:
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
- HLTAID012 - Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Training conducted and certificate issued by Surf Life Saving NSW RTO 90394.

The Education and Care First Aid course is nationally recognised training, and has been endorsed by ACECQA as satisfying all education requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma training.
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. It applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. Course complies with the Start Strong Program funding guidelines.
Certificate is valid for 3 years - It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that you update your CPR skills every 12 months.

Flexible delivery, one full day of training (8 hours) plus a question and answer workbook (available online or in hardcopy format) to be completed independently prior to the day of practical training - enrol at least 2 weeks prior to the practical session. Once enrolled you will be sent an email with the pre-course study workbook. If your certificate will still be valid at the time of renewal, you will not be required to complete the online workbook. No enrolments will be accepted less than 5 days before the start date. You must be 14 or over to enrol in this course. No concession.
Please note carefully, the following Refund and Cancellation Policy which in the case of First Aid courses is that of the Surf Lifesaving Academy. An application for refund of course fees must be made in writing to Surf Life Saving NSW (Training Division) via MCC in the case of enrolments in MCC published courses. Where cancellation is made less than five (5) working days prior to the commencement of the course, 50% of the course fees will be charged. Participants who leave before finishing their course or who do not commence their course without submitting a written refund request will be charged the full course fee. The full applicable Refund Policy can be found on the Surf Life Saving NSW (Training Division) website.

Recognition and management of emergency situations
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Defibrillation

Emergencies due to lack of oxygen, excess heat or cold
Recognition and management of medical conditions that may need emergency care, including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy

Materials

Once enrolled you will also receive a Booking Confirmation from Surf Life Saving NSW.

Bring lunch, (tea and coffee available), pen and paper. Wear comfortable clothing as you will be kneeling down to use resuscitation manikins.
All participants must bring ID (Passport, Drivers Licence, Proof of Age Card or Birth Certificate).
