Tech Savvy Seniors - Computers for Beginners II

This course is designed for those seniors 60+ (or ATSI 50+) who have already completed Computer for Beginners I: Seniors, and Introduction to Internet. If you would like to take a step further and explore beyond computer basics, then this course is for you!! In this course you will learn to download programs from the internet, be able to identify what application updates you need to download and how to download, movies, music, and other files from the Internet. You will explore Google play, and iTunes, and learn how to download applications, extensions, or buy music and movies. You are welcome to bring your own laptop and Internet dongle, or use the college‘s computers. The Tech Savvy Seniors program is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

This week is used to catch up with those participants who have fallen behind, Question time, will allow participants to go back to some points they need clarifying.

Materials

Bring pen and paper (tea and coffee available).
Because there has been a high incidence of people enrolling and then not attending, we may charge you a nominal fee upon enrolment. If you are unable to attend any session or a whole course, or you decide not to continue, please contact the College Office and advise accordingly.

  • This course is designed for beginners and those with some experience. You will learn to construct small items from slabs and coils as well as wheel work and glazing techniques. Continuing participants welcome - work on your own project with tutor guidance. An additional $25 is payable first session for clay and glazes.   • This workshop is designed for Seniors 60+ (or ATSI 50+) who have heard of the Internet but are not sure what it can offer them. You will learn how to get online, surf the net, do effective searches, and find the right Internet plan for you. MS Word and Excel - Intermediate


  • ***NSW Government Subsidised places available for qualifying applicants. There is also funding available for small business owners/employees if the business has less than 20 employees or a turnover of less than $2M/year. Please contact College office for more information.
