Do you want to perfect your English skills?

Our courses can take you from an absolute beginner to exploring your full potential.

You will be supported to develop your oral communication and reading and writing skills to improve your comprehension, reading and writing to a higher level. You will be supported to improve on your everyday mathematic skills.

Fee (GST free): Individual permanent residents and Agencies enrolling clients - please contact the College office as you/your client may be eligible for a free NSW Government subsidised place. If not, you will pay $120. Non-permanent residents - $160. No concession.

Agenda

* Analysis of needs - letter writing, tenses, structure, spelling
* Recount text type and structure/planning
* Writing reports - looking at reports in assignment writing - structure
* Review of film/book etc. Structure/components/grammar usage
* Explanation Genre - command vocabulary, spelling, individual writing
* Exposition - persuasive language/causal statements, spelling/grammar
* Discussion Genre - strucutre/grammar/assignments - comparison
* Review own writing - look at more complex vocab/idioms, etc.
(Each week also has comprehension passage and own writing in genre taught)

Materials

Bring a dictionary, pen and paper every session.

Since 1/1/15 anyone undertaking accredited training must have a USI (Unique Student Identifier). The College will require you to apply for one before it can issue any Qualifications or Statements of Attainment.

Go to www.usi.gov.au and apply for one now. It will only take 5-10 minutes - you just enter your personal details with one form of ID (e.g. Driver‘s licence, Medicare card, passport, etc). Alternatively you can give the College permission to apply for one for you.

Venue

St Johns Park HS is located on the corner of Mimosa and Greenfield Roads, Greenfield Park.
Enter via carpark opposite Cheyenne Road.
Co-ordinator (Olivia) is located in D block (next to oval).
Courses are held on Wednesday nights in D block 6:30pm-8:30pm.
