This comprehensive course includes; Downloading photographs to your computer and disk drives, Viewing photographs properly, Organising and Filing photographs.
Archiving of photographs and Backing up photographs directly known as Direct attached storage (DAS) including; Local storage Local backup drives; solid state drives SSD and traditional spinning drives HDD. Discussion and theory of Cloud storage and Network NAS Network Attached Storage, will also be covered.
Post processing of photographs in black and white and colour for printing and also sharing online.

Demonstrations of free and paid for Software (especially non subscription), for viewing, organising and post processing. Links for all software; including comprehensive free legitimate software links will be emailed to all participants.
The Tutor will also supply detailed information in regards to care and maintenance of camera memory cards.
Please note you will not need to buy or download any software, or hardware i.e disk drive(s) etc, prior to this course, as the Tutor will give his personal recommendations in the tutorials.
All ZOOM information and a Zoom meeting link, will be provided by the Tutor prior to the start of this course.
A small group (maximum of 8) for a greater learning experience, and more one-to-one time with the Tutor, you will be able to ask questions and get feedback directly from the Tutor.No concession.

Materials
Your Tutor will discuss materials; both hardware and software, in your first online session and onwards.
Photographs that you have taken in Raw and or Jpeg format; either on your laptop, notebook, SD card, Compact Flash card, USB flash drive or USB back up drive with corresponding cable, SD or Compact Flash card reader.
In the first session you‘ll be advised and then sent your camera manufacturer raw and jpeg software to install on your computer, also other post processing software to install as you wish.
Computer equipment:
You will need recent laptop, notebook, surface tablet, Windows PC or Apple Macbook Pro, Macbook Air or similar Apple Mac with a fairly recent version of an operating system*.
RAW software requirements for your laptop, notebook, Airbook etc.
Participants if they wish to do so, are advised to install the Raw processing software, that is designed for their camera files i.e. Canon DPP Digital Photo Professional for Canon, Nikon Studio or Nikon Capture NX-D or NX2 or similar, SONY Imaging Desktop, RAW Studio for Fuji, Olympus OM workspace, Silkypix for Pentax and Panasonic, etc.
For Jpeg format; your native RAW Software, Gimp, and Photoscape X.
Legitimate free post processing programs including Photoscape X which can do both RAW and JPEG for most camera formats.
Please note;
No software or hardware i.e disk drive(s) are required to start this course.
Your Tutor will discuss different software / hardware that is currently available from the first session.
All Software links will be sent prior to, beginning of the course.
Included are comprehensive links for free, purchase only, and some subscription software too and Links to download your Native RAW Software (free) for example, Nikon, Sony, Canon, Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica etc.
*Most software is available for recent Windows and Apple operating programs.

A connection to the internet, and have access privileges to download and install software onto your home computer, PC, Laptop, Notebook or Surface tablet etc).
Please note
Internet data, computer software , other hardware etc, are NOT included in the cost of this course.
All your software downloads should be thoroughly checked, with current antivirus software, regardless of the source.

Tips for your zoom session:
This is time for You!
A quiet place in your home, away from distractions such as a partner, spouse family, children, pets or television , radio in the background, etc.
Please no mobile phone usage including; social media, ringing, notifications, bells , whistles etc or pager, home phone etc
Please put all on silent, (this includes your PC, Laptop etc notifications).
Nik‘s Tips for Course Attendees:
1.The Tutor will broadcast in HD - please use the fastest connection possible.
2.Use broadband 5G 4G etc.
3.Please be aware of Zoom etiquette and review your ZOOM settings especially quality etc, well before we start, and mute your microphone before your online session begins.
4.Please keep background noise to a minimum, make sure you mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
5.Position your camera properly at eye level - whichever is the most flattering!
6.Please limit distractions as much as possible.
7.Please avoid multi-tasking.
8.Where possible please prepare your questions in advance for each session. any course questions, post processing questions, Photography, kit etc.
