Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a nationally recognised statement of attainment for the following units of competency:
- HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid
This nationally recognised and Workcover approved training is conducted and certificate issued by Surf Life Saving NSW RTO 90394.
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to manage emergency first aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support. Once completed, participants will obtain a first aid certificate that is valid for three years. Must be 14 or over to enrol in this course. Certificate is valid for 3 years - It is recommended by the Australian Resuscitation Council that you update your CPR Skills every 12 Months.
Flexible delivery One full day of training (8 hours) plus a question and answer workbook (available online or in hardcopy format) to be completed independently prior to the day of practical training - enrol at least 2 weeks prior to the practical session. Once enrolled you will be sent an email with the pre-course study workbook. No enrolments will be accepted less than 5 days before the start date. No concession. Note that participants must be able to demonstrate CPR on the floor and that no reasonable adjustment is available in this instance.

Materials
Once enrolled you will also receive a Booking Confirmation from Surf Life Saving NSW.
Bring lunch, (tea and coffee available), pen and paper. Wear comfortable clothing as you will be kneeling down to use resuscitation manikins.
All participants must bring ID (Passport, Drivers Licence, Proof of Age Card or Birth Certificate).

The College office (Suite 5) and Training Rooms (Suite 8) are located at 403 Hume Highway, above Aussie Home Loans between Brinlay Paints and Little Kingdom Child Care Centre. For disabled access and those with mobility issues there is a Platform Stairlift provided contact the College office on 8080 2121 for more information.
Parking underneath the building is limited to evening and weekends with a maximum of 12 non-stacker spaces accessed via an unnamed lane off Boundary Road (behind Brinlay Paints). Unrestricted parking is available in Reilly Street, Alderson Avenue, Gill Avenue and Boundary Road west of Gill Avenue on the College (western) side of the Hume Highway and in Congressional Drive and the Collingwood Museum (including 3 disabled parking spaces) on the eastern side of the highway.
Public Transport (Go to transportnsw.info for more details). Buses connect from railway stations - the closest being Liverpool station.
Bus Routes: 851, 852, 855, 856, 857, 870, 871, 872. Going North: Bus stop on Hume Hwy (outside College - after Boundary Road). Going South: 2 Bus stops on Hume Hwy: 1. near Monteclair Avenue and 2. opposite Boundary Road.
