Join me for low-intensity, low-impact group exercise sessions set to enjoyable music in a welcoming atmosphere at your community college. The sessions begin with a fun cardio warm-up, followed by gentle toning exercises using hand weights, balance work and resistance bands to strengthen and stretch your entire body. Chairs will be available for use during each session. This course is designed to help you strengthen and tone your muscles and ligaments, supporting your body and reducing the risk of injury. It‘s perfect for beginners and those 50+. Sessions are led by Gabriela Sahid, a registered fitness professional specializing in senior fitness.
Gradually enhance participants‘ fitness and flexibility while building strength and supporting bone density for those looking to start physical activity through gentle movements and exercises. Every muscle group is engaged in each session.
We begin with a light cardio warm-up, then progress to using light hand weights and resistance bands. The sessions will include seated core exercises and standing leg toning with a chair for balance. We conclude with stretching and flexibility movements for a soothing cool-down.
There‘s no need to lie on the floor; all exercises can be done while standing, sitting, or leaning on a chair. If you have any medical conditions or a history that should be communicated to the instructor, please contact the College Office to request a Pre-Course Questionnaire to be sent to you. Enrol in this course and Body Harmony-blending elements of Tai-Chi, Yoga, Pilates and Stretch at the same time and receive a 10% discount on each course. No other discounts or concessions apply apart from a college birthday bonus if you currently hold one. Call the college to enrol in two together.
Agenda
Gradually improve participants‘ fitness and flexibility while building strength and supporting bone density for those 50+ and beginners through gentle movements and exercises. Every workout engages all muscle groups.
We begin with a light cardio warm-up, then move on to using light hand weights. Next, we transition to a resistance-band workout, followed by core exercises and standing leg-toning routines. Participants have the option to use a chair for support throughout the session. We will conclude with a well-deserved cooldown, including a full-body stretch to enhance mobility and flexibility.
Materials
Bring along a towel, closed footwear such as joggers, comfortable and loose clothing. If you have a medical condition which may put you at risk in this course, we strongly advise that you seek advice and perhaps a Medical Certificate/Letter from your GP.

The College office (Suite 5) and Training Rooms (Suite 8) are located at 403 Hume Highway, above Aussie Home Loans between Brinlay Paints and Little Kingdom Child Care Centre. For disabled access and those with mobility issues there is a Platform Stairlift provided contact the College office on 8080 2121 for more information.
Parking underneath the building is limited to evening and weekends with a maximum of 12 non-stacker spaces accessed via an unnamed lane off Boundary Road (behind Brinlay Paints). Unrestricted parking is available in Reilly Street, Alderson Avenue, Gill Avenue and Boundary Road west of Gill Avenue on the College (western) side of the Hume Highway and in Congressional Drive and the Collingwood Museum (including 3 disabled parking spaces) on the eastern side of the highway.
Public Transport (Go to transportnsw.info for more details). Buses connect from railway stations - the closest being Liverpool station.
Bus Routes: 851, 852, 855, 856, 857, 870, 871, 872. Going North: Bus stop on Hume Hwy (outside College - after Boundary Road). Going South: 2 Bus stops on Hume Hwy: 1. near Monteclair Avenue and 2. opposite Boundary Road.
